INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Technique 1: The C Fold

Rinse hands and cup with warm water

1. Fastening: press the sides of the cup

2. Fold: Fold the cup in half, firmly holding the folded sides between your thumb and index finger

3. Enter: Relax and push the curved edge of the folded cup into the vaginal opening

Technique 2: The punchdown fold

This fold creates one of the smallest areas

1. Thrust: Push the lip/rim of the cup towards its base with your finger.

2. Squeeze: Next, remove your finger while squeezing the edges so it doesn't pop open suddenly

3. Enter: To facilitate the insertion of the punchdown fold, push the cup into the vagina halfway, allowing it to open, and then push it the rest of the way in

Preparation for insertion

Now that you have chosen the technique that suits you best...

1. Before first use, thoroughly clean the cup

2. Wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and soap

3. Find a comfortable position to sit, stand up, squat, or kneel.

How to insert the cup

Moisten the menstrual cup to make it easier to insert.

1. Hold the cup firmly with your finger and thumb as low as possible on the cup while keeping it bent.

2. With the other hand, at the entrance of the vagina, guide the cup upwards and towards your back.

3. The BeYou menstrual cup has been designed to be placed as low as possible in the vagina.

Create the seal

Make sure the glass has been fully opened and a seal has formed

1. Run your finger along the side of the menstrual cup to make sure it is fully open.

2. Pinch the base of the cup and twist it. Make sure it is the base of the cup and not the stem.

3. Squeeze the menstrual cup with the vaginal muscles

Trim the stem

1. Run your finger along the side of the menstrual cup to make sure it is fully open.

2. Pinch the base of the cup and twist it. Make sure it is the base of the cup and not the stem.

3. Squeeze the menstrual cup with the vaginal muscles

Preparation for extraction

Relax your body and take your time

1. Squat down or sit on the toilet

2. Gently press the base to release the seal

3.O Insert a finger along the cup to release the seal

4. When the base of the cup is almost out of the vagina, tilt the cup slightly to one side to remove half of the rim before tilting it to the other side to release the other half.

5. In this way, the cup will slide smoothly out of the vagina and remain upright with the liquid contained inside.

6. Empty the contents of your cup into the toilet, rinse it, and put it back in

Cleaning Methods

There are several cleaning methods to keep the cup clean

1. We recommend that you use the BeYou Menstrual Cup Cleaning Foam to thoroughly clean your cup. To use it, simply pour a small amount of the cleaner onto the cup and lather it with your hands, turning it over as needed. Once clean, rinse it with clean water.

2. Completely cover with water and boil in a designated pot for 5 - 7 minutes. Do not leave the pot boiling unattended and make sure the cup is completely cool before putting it back in.

3. If you are in a public restroom without your Cleansing Foam, bring a small bottle of water to the stall to rinse your menstrual cup, or simply empty it and reinsert it, remembering to wash the cup more thoroughly at the next convenient opportunity. When abroad, always use potable water to clean the cup!

FAQS

Can I use a menstrual cup if I have an IUD or a Mirena coil inserted?

Yes, if you have a Mirena coil or an IUD, you can use a menstrual cup. Many women worry that the menstrual cup might displace the coil. However, the menstrual cup is placed a little lower in the vaginal canal, while the IUD is placed further up in the uterus, so it will not interfere with the coil. When using a menstrual cup with an IUD, you should leave a little space between the cup and the cervix for greater comfort. If you feel that your cervix is quite low, then you might want to consider other options that do not interfere with your IUD/IUS.
¿Does the BeYou menstrual cup get dirty?

Removing the menstrual cup is no messier than any other sanitary product. Since all the blood is trapped inside the BeYou cup, you won’t have to worry about getting your hands dirty. The only part you might consider "dirty" is when you insert the cup, as a little blood may have reached your vaginal canal, but this also happens with tampons. Nothing you can’t fix by washing your hands. P.S. Many of us have been conditioned to fear our own menstrual blood. Take a moment to think about how absurd that is. It’s time for you to take back control of your menstruation and everything it represents.
What does it feel like to insert the menstrual cup?

With the right fit and cup size, you shouldn't feel the menstrual cup at all once inserted (like a tampon). If it's too long, you might notice the stem. However, you can trim the stem of the menstrual cup by cutting along the stem lines. If you can feel the entire cup, it's most likely that your menstrual cup is not the right size, hasn't opened properly, or is positioned too low/high in your vaginal canal. There's a reason menstrual cup users rave about how comfortable they are. But as the saying goes, practice makes perfect.
¿De qué material está hecha la copa BeYou?

Our menstrual cup is made from super soft and flexible medical-grade silicone. This makes it a safe material to be inserted into the vagina and it is gentle on all skin types.
Why soft? In fact, we have designed our menstrual cup to be softer than the others because that was the first feedback after talking to thousands of users. Also, not everything that goes inside should be hard.
Does using a menstrual cup hurt?

Using a menstrual cup should not hurt at all. That’s the great thing about the BeYou menstrual cup: it’s so comfortable! However, if your cup causes you pain, there are a few possible reasons:
You have an incorrect size - If your cup is too big or too long, it may be positioned too high in your vagina or pressing against your vaginal walls, which can cause some discomfort.
The stem of the glass is too long - If your vaginal canal is short or you have a low cervix, the stem might be poking your vaginal walls. You can trim part of the stem with scissors.
The cup is too tall - If the cup is too high and has not unfolded properly, it could be pressing against the cervix. We recommend making sure the cup sits lower in the vaginal canal and slowly pushing the cup upward so it is fully inserted.
The cup is too low - If the cup is too low in the vaginal canal, it can cause discomfort. To ensure that the cup is not too low, make sure that the entire stem of the menstrual cup is fully inserted and that the cup is not directly at the entrance of the vagina.
If you have ANY problem while using the cup, let us know and we will help you.
What age do you have to be to try a menstrual cup?

It is not necessary to be a certain age to use any type of menstrual product, and this is certainly the same for menstrual cups. The moment you start your period, you will want to find the most comfortable and suitable menstrual product for you.
If you start using a menstrual cup at an early age: give yourself time to try different folds and positions and get used to the menstrual cup, just like you would with a tampon or a pad. Your blood will help make the insertion of the menstrual product smoother and gentler, so go ahead, make a "bloody mess"! It's the only time you'll want to do it.
Can I swim with a menstrual cup in?

Dive in! You'll see, swimming will never be as fun and relaxing as with your BeYou cup! You no longer have to worry about leaks or the tampon string. Take a dip and enjoy the mermaid within you.
When you're ready to empty your glass, you might be surprised to see that some water has gotten into your glass, but that's perfectly normal!
Can I return a menstrual cup if I change my mind?

Aunque nos gustaría que pudieras, por motivos de higiene no podemos aceptar devoluciones de copas menstruales (sería como devolver ropa interior en una tienda de ropa).
If you're not sure you've chosen the right size, take a look at your cervical measurement and check out our BeYou cup size guide.
Of course, we understand that sometimes it's not that simple. If you continue having trouble deciding, send us a message and we'll see how we can help you.
Can a menstrual cup get stuck or lost?

It is impossible for the menstrual cup to get lost or stuck inside you, as it cannot move above the cervix. If you are going to remove the cup and it gets stuck, stay calm (since panic can tense the surrounding muscles) and pinch the base of the menstrual cup to release the suction... then pull it out. It sounds much scarier than it is, but once you become a menstrual cup pro, you won't even think about it!
The more comfortable you feel with your vagina, the better. That's why we always recommend practicing using the cup even before childbirth. Why? Well, it's natural to panic if you're new to cups and think it's stuck... while it's full of blood... and you're alone... and you still want to clean it!
But don't worry, practice makes perfect, and we promise that once you get used to it, you'll wonder how you managed with pads or tampons.
I have endometriosis, can I use a menstrual cup?

Our BeYou menstrual cup is much softer and holds more blood than a tampon, so many women in the endocrine community have found that the BeYou menstrual cup is a great support for those unexpected symptoms caused by endometriosis. You'll see that you don't need to empty the cup as often as with a tampon, which also reduces friction and irritation.
That said, if you have endometriosis, we recommend that you talk to your trusted medical professional before using a menstrual cup. We prefer that you have peace of mind when you start your journey with the cup.
Can I play sports with a menstrual cup?

Yes, you can. The beauty of the BeYou Menstrual Cup is that you can use it regardless of the exercise you are doing. We understand that many swimmers, cyclists, runners, and dancers struggle to find sanitary products that are durable and long-lasting. However, we have ensured that you can wear the BeYou menstrual cup for up to 12 hours (although we still recommend emptying it every 4 hours). Additionally, the vacuum seal creates a barrier against the vaginal walls, which means it won’t move and is leak-proof.
Do I have to remove and clean the menstrual cup every time I go to the bathroom?

No, you won't have to remove and clean the cup every time you go to the bathroom, but you might want to make sure everything is still fitting well the first few times you use the cup.
We recommend that you keep the cup inserted for between 4 and 8 hours before emptying it.
You should clean the cup every time you take it out, which is very easy to do with our Menstrual Cup Cleaning Foam, water, or a piece of toilet paper.
Can I use the menstrual cup if I am entering menopause?

The menstrual cup is a reliable option for your menstrual transition to menopause. You will face unexpected changes in your period. Your flow may fluctuate and become quite unpredictable, so you may not have access to a wide range of period products from one moment to the next.
You can track your period using the measurements on the side of your BeYou cup to monitor any changes that occur. It's a great way to simplify your life a little more.
Can anything damage or break my Menstrual Cup?

Yes, it is definitely possible to damage your cup with certain objects. When cleaning your cup, make sure not to leave it boiling for too long, as extreme heat can easily damage your cup. Other silicone-based products can damage the cup, so it's best to stay away from them and keep your menstrual cup safely stored in the pouch it comes with.

BeYou Menstrual Cup Large

WHAT SHOULD I KNOW BEFORE USING A MENSTRUAL CUP?

The menstrual cup is more intimate than pads and can take up to 2-3 cycles to get used to, which is a little longer than regular sanitary products. This goes hand in hand with knowing yourself and your body, which actually goes a long way to explaining why so many have switched to menstrual cups. It's more than just supporting you during your period, it's one more step to getting to know yourself a little more, and on a level that is commonly left unexplored. The menstrual cup is safer for the environment, reduces the cost of feminine care products and breaks the boundaries established between us and our bodies. It's a step in the right direction.
HOW DO YOU REMOVE THE MENSTRUAL CUP WITHOUT MESSING?

You can easily remove your menstrual cup without making a mess or spilling anything. All the blood is trapped inside the cup, which you will not touch when removing it. The only part that may be messy is inserting the cup, which is the same process as using a tampon. You can wash your hands afterwards and use a piece of toilet paper to clean it.
HOW DOES THE MENSTRUAL CUP FEEL?

With the right shape and cup size, you shouldn't notice it at all. Luckily you can leave it inside for up to 12 hours, because many end up forgetting that it's still inside you! If you feel pain when the menstrual cup is inside you, you may want to trim the stem of the cup or readjust the cup by inserting it again.
