The easiest way to use it:
If you're just starting to introduce retinol into your routine, make sure you start with it only in your nighttime routine. Apply it to clean, dry skin before your moisturizer - if you have sensitive skin, you can apply a thin layer of moisturizer before retinol or even pour a couple of drops of this serum into your regular moisturizer when you have it in your hand to slowly get your skin used to it.
Because yes, the skin goes through a process of getting used to retinol called retinization. During this process you may feel a little dryness, tightness, peeling... it's totally normal, and that's why we advise you to start using it only at night, little by little, and with a moisturizer that reinforces the barrier function on your skin.
Remember:
- Start by applying it once a week. This will be enough if you have never used it and your skin is not used to it. - You will always, always have to apply SPF50+ the next morning. - Do not combine exfoliation, acids or peels with retinol, neither in the same routine nor during the first weeks in which you are introducing it. If you are a beginner, your skin will thank you.
- Strengthening your skin's barrier function when using retinol is always a good idea.
After about a month of regular use only at night, depending on your skin's tolerance, you can begin to increase the frequency of application during the week until you are using it on alternate days.
