Key ingredients

KEY INGREDIENTS:

  • Sunscreens. To provide very high UVA and UVB protection, which prevents skin redness, wrinkle formation, and spots.
  • Spirulina algae extract. Contains photolyase enzymes and blue pigments with oxygenating and antioxidant action that protect the skin from the harmful effects of blue light from screens (HEV) and the sun.
  • Vitamin D Activator. Fito-glucidic fraction of Lithops pseudotruncatella stem cells: From green biotechnology. Contains molecules such as glycoproteins, glycolipids, proteoglycans, polyphenols (flavonoids), and organic acids, with the following actions: Antioxidant: inhibits the oxidation of skin lipids and the activity of enzymes that break down collagen fibers. Activates keratinocytes to synthesize vitamin D3 after sun exposure. Improves barrier function, prevents transepidermal water loss, and deeply hydrates to achieve smoother, firmer, and more radiant skin.
  • Does not contain parabens.

Mode of employment

Use it as a serum:

  1. Apply 3-4 drops on face and neck, gently massaging until fully absorbed, half an hour before sun exposure.

Use it as sunscreen:

  1. Measure the amount of 2 lines over the index and middle fingers.
  2. Apply to face and neck half an hour before sun exposure.
  3. Repeat application every 2 hours during sun exposure.

Characteristics

Biotechnology on your skin: Spirulina, the algae that protects against blue light

Spirulina is a freshwater microalga that grows in rivers or lakes and is of great interest in the field of biotechnology because it is cultivated in many parts of the world for its high nutritional value. This value is mainly due to its high protein content (approximately 60-70% of its dry weight) and the presence of a special type of lipids. Additionally, it has a relatively high content of vitamins, such as provitamin A (mainly β-carotene), vitamin C, vitamin E, and minerals (iron, calcium, chromium, copper, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, and zinc). All these properties mean that spirulina can be used in various applications, such as an ingredient in dietary supplements. In cosmetics and pharmacy, spirulina also contains several pigments that act as antioxidants, such as phycocyanins, chlorophyll-A, and others like myxoxanthophyll and zeaxanthin.

Thanks to blue biotechnology, we can isolate these beneficial compounds that we can consider as biological filters to prevent the harmful effects of visible/blue light.:

  • Some blue pigments, phycocyanins, which contain antioxidants protect against the damage caused by free radicals formed by the radiation of blue light from the sun and screens.
  • Multi-functional enzymes called photolyases that help repair DNA damage in the cells of our skin caused by solar radiation.

Vitamin D Urban SPF 30

IT'S FOR YOU IF...
    • If you are looking for a cosmetic that hydrates you, has strong antioxidant action, and protects you from the harmful effects of solar radiation.
    • If you need to protect your skin from the sun, no matter the type, during your daily life in the city.
    • If you want to keep your skin healthy and radiant by protecting it from aggressive factors such as solar radiation or pollution.
What are FPS, UVB, UVA, IR, and Blue Light?

SPF, UVB, UVA, IR, and blue light are concepts related to solar radiation and sun protection.

    • FPS: FPS stands for "sun protection factor" and measures the level of protection only against UVB radiation (note, not against others, although many think that if a product has a high SPF they can be at ease). The different levels of FPS or SPF are: low (6 to 10), medium (15-25), high (30-50), and very high (50+).
    • UVB
Behind UVB are ultraviolet B rays that do not penetrate very deeply and reach the epidermis of the skin. We can identify them because they are responsible for erythema or redness, burns, and a possible skin cancer.
    • GRAPE
On the other hand, UVA refers to ultraviolet A rays (UVA) that penetrate up to the dermis (the deepest layer). Their damage is invisible in the short term, but they have a cumulative effect and in the long term are responsible for premature skin aging, hyperpigmentation, and also skin cancer. Additionally, they pass through clouds and glass, so be careful on cloudy days or not wearing sunscreen inside the car.
    • IR-A
Many of the current sunscreens also protect us from infrared rays, which emit radiation in the form of heat and penetrate deeply, causing us, above all, to lose water from the skin (dehydrate).
    • BLUE LIGHT
Did you know that the visible light emitted by the sun, or even by the screens of your mobile phone or computer, also causes damage to your skin? This is because it penetrates at a very deep level and can cause spots and aging, especially in higher skin phototypes, that is, darker skin.
    • WATER RESISTANT: This means that the product's sun protection remains effective after 2 swims of about 20 minutes each, so if you spend your time going in and out of the water, we recommend reapplying it after each swim.
HOW DO WE ENHANCE VITAMIN D SYNTHESIS?

Lithops pseudotruncatella is a succulent plant specialized in water storage (thanks to the structuring of sugars in its cell membrane) during prolonged drought periods, and it survives in arid climates such as the Namib Desert where it originates.
We extract the phyto-carbohydrate fraction from its stem cells, providing molecules such as glycoproteins, glycolipids, proteoglycans, polyphenols (flavonoids), and organic acids that enhance vitamin D synthesis in keratinocytes and fibroblasts.

With this fraction of stem cells, we reinforce the organization and structure of keratinocyte and fibroblast membranes, achieving:

    An increase in cellular hydration:

    • Optimization of UVB light usage
    • Reactivation of vitamin D synthesis
    • Important antioxidant action.
